That’s right, it’s a Friday and it’s March 8th so, that can mean only one thing... Happy International Woman’s Day! International Woman’s Day is celebrated on March 8th every year single year so, it’s easy to keep track. So, why do woman all over the world zone in on this one particular day you may ask?
Well International Woman’s Day is a focal point in the movement for women's rights. I know I know, females as a gender have come such a long way in history to where we are now. Woman have so much more freedom and equality has come leaps and bounds since it’s time. But there will always be things to fight for where equality is concerned.
International Woman’s Day isn’t just about fighting for things that women feel they should have. I mean yeah sure, in this day and age, you’d of thought everything would be clean cut for men and women. But that isn’t always the case. So, no it’s not always fair. But that’s why women have fought for other women everywhere to afford the luxuries that we have today. International Woman’s Day is a form of celebration, to remember those who dedicated their lives in history to us women you live today and to praise those who continue their work in less drastic but modern times.
After the Socialist Party of America organised a Women's Day on February 28, 1909 in New York, the 1910 International Socialist Woman's Conference suggested a Women's Day be held annually. After women gained suffrage in Soviet Russia in 1917, March 8 became a national holiday there. The day was then predominantly celebrated by the socialist movement and communist countries until it was adopted in 1975 by the United Nations.
Today, International Women's Day is a public holiday in some countries and largely ignored elsewhere. In some places, it is a day of protest. In others, it is a day that celebrates womanhood. If you want to learn more about the history of International Woman’s Day, then I’d suggest using Wikipedia for an in-depth and accurate recollection of events. So, in today’s article, we’re of course addressing the importance of this day, as well as a talking about a product which I think represents this day perfectly:

As to be expected from Marc Jacobs, the design of the bottle is exquisite! Like a beautiful glass handbag, it immediately stands out from other perfume bottles and fragrance ranges. It is a statement piece in itself. I’m sure I’m not alone in my opinion, but I look forward to when Marc Jacobs bring out a NEW fragrance just so that I can catch a glimpse of the bottle. I look forward to popping into my nearest department store to catch a look (and sniff) at their new fragrance of the moment.
My expectations raised when I first opened the bottle of this luxury style handbag. I always take a bit inhale when it comes to Marc Jacobs fragrances, because I already know that I’m going to WANT it! Most definitely Eau So Decadent, the sophisticated scent is sultry and slightly musky. So, this is true to description. It makes me think of exotic destinations and sophisticated surroundings, a perfume for women confident in their own skin seeking their own touch of daily Decadence. Personally, I think it seems as though all empowered women should be wearing Eau So Decadent!
If you usually prefer a lighter, floral fragrance, this may be the perfume that tempts you to explore your more indulgent, decadent self as it is definitely a more “grown up” fragrance (whatever that even means these days) without being too heavy or overpowering.
If you’ve been here before, you may have seen my review of the original Decadence fragrance by Marc Jacobs. After loving this fragrance for a considerable amount of time, can you blame me for wanting to expand my collection of what I consider to be luxury fragrances?
