Can you believe it’s that time of year again?! I have absolutely no idea where 2019 has gone, but I have to say, I am rather happy to see that big green tree being the centre of attention in my living room. I love being surrounded by festive flourishes and in my house, we go all out at Christmas time! There’s something so special about festive decorations that make me feel warm and gooey inside.
I don’t know about you, but I am well and truly in full swing CHRISTMAS MODE now that my house has been kitted out in all of the necessary trimmings. Even my dog, Harvey is ready for Christmas. He’s currently sporting his festive jumper and a collar that jingles. What can I say? We’re a merry bunch!
Hot chocolates are being consumed like water, lights are a' glow, presents are wrapped and ready to go, Christmas movies are being watched in a marathon-like fashion and only my cosiest pyjamas have made it out of my wardrobe so far this season and I think it’s fair to say that my excitement is only going to increase as the holidays draw closer, they’re nearly in sight people!
Perhaps I’m like a female version of Buddy the ELF or something? Well, just like Buddy, I often think about the things that I adore about Christmas time and if I were to write a list of things that make this time of year special for me personally, the list would be as long as my arm!
The root of every single thing that gives this time of year a nostalgic place in my heart is because of my family. ABOUT LA NUIT TRÉSOR LANCÔME
Discover La Nuit Trésor (which translates to the night treasure), a sultry, smouldering fragrance for women. The La Nuit Trésor perfume contains notes of fresh raspberry, frankincense, and vanilla, not to mention the heart of black rose essence, which is a rather bewitching feature! The fragrance (released back in 2015) is Lancôme’s first ‘Gourmand Woody Floriental’ l’eau de parfum.
It is a scent of passionate love (as showcased in the advert featuring the beautiful Penelope Cruz). This is a fragrance unlike any other, a rarity, just like the delicate bottle which the La Nuit Trésor perfume is presented within. The bottle of this particular fragrance is shaped like a black diamond (the most mysterious and precious of all diamonds) adorned with a black rose choker as a symbol of refined elegance and beauty. This gorgeously designed packaging radiates class, and sophistication.
I can say with confidence that La Nuit Trésor would be a crowning jewel on any woman’s dressing table, making it the perfect gift for her this Christmas. What’s the story behind the fragrance you may ask?
Lancôme’s La Nuit Trésor perfume was inspired by the stars and constellations in the night sky. Star dust can contain traces of diamond material, and once a star has burnt all of its energy resources, it can become a fully-fledged diamond. This process inspired the scent and design of the La Nuit Trésor perfume.
Created by French Perfumery experts, Christophe Raynaud and Amandine Clerc Marie, La Nuit Trésor embodies the darkness of a French night garden. With notes of Damask Rose, Lily of the Valley and Vanilla, the scent is a sexy rich and yet, delicate and intoxicating fragrance that lingers on your skin throughout the night. The scent of this fragrance is simply exquisite.
There are no words more suitable than those. So, here’s a list of the notes that the La Nuit Trésor perfume utilises to intrigue your senses; beginning with a burst of delicious raspberry, the notes of a damascena rose have then been enhanced to give the perfume a deep and mysterious scent. If you’ve been a fragrance review reader of mine previously, you may recall that this particular type of scent is a favourite.
Alongside those notes, vanilla grown on the petals of an orchid in Tahiti, gives the fragrance a solar and radiant finish. The La Nuit Trésor perfume is unlike any other fragrance I’ve discovered. Let’s talk about what makes the fragrance special through the top, heart & base notes.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS LA NUIT TRÉSOR LANCÔME
For me, the most prominence comes from the base notes of the fragrance. As mentioned above, the list is pretty vast, but clearly the combination of ingredients creates the perfect recipe to elude that seductive mood. Patchouli, Papyrus, Incense, Praline, Litchi, Vanilla, Caramel, Coffee, Liquorice and Coumarin are the handful of ingredients that first strike me upon spraying this delicate scent.
If we’re getting really specific, the Bergamot is quite prominent at first, but I can smell the Praline and Caramel notes long before the fragrance settles completely. The bitterness of the Coffee is also quite prominent for me as is the indulgent Incense. I’m getting the whole Flowerbomb/ Bon Bon by Viktor and Rolf vibe with a slight reminiscence of Alien by Thierry Mugler all rolled into one with this perfume. So, if aphrodisiac gourmands that take your breath away are your cup of tea, I’m pretty sure you’ll love this scent just like I do!
Now for the burning question, how long does the La Nuit Trésor perfume last? Well, in my experience, this fragrance tends to linger on the skin for around 6 hours after application. It’s the perfect night-time scent, which will go hand in hand with that little black dress you have hanging in the wardrobe. To maximise the longevity/ intensity of this scent, follow the application guidelines listed down below. Guys, those pointers will be handy for you too.
APPLYING LA NUIT TRÉSOR LANCÔME
Did you know that there is a particular way which a fragrance should be applied in order to get the most out of the notes within a scent (and the longevity from it too?). I’ll be honest, some of these tips are new to me so, let’s take a quick look at these application methods, together. Apparently, the quality of a fragrance will become most apparent if applied onto warm skin, so it is advisable to spray your fragrance of choice on to your skin up to 5 minutes after stepping out of the shower.
Secondly, the intensity and longevity of a fragrance will increase if you apply your scent onto your pulse points. Your pulse points include areas such as your wrists, elbows and your neck (especially behind the ears). Doing this will help to disperse the scent. To the guys reading this article, this particular tip will be handy for you to remember too! Thirdly, don’t rub your perfume in! This is a mistake that I have been making for years up until recently, but now I know. So, all you have to do is spray the scent onto your chosen area and let it air-dry on your skin for a maximum effect.
Last, but not least is a personal favourite of mine. This is something that I have done since I was a teenager and it does actually work in terms of longevity. Spray a little of your fragrance onto your hair bush and comb it through your hair for added coverage. You won’t want to use a lot as the alcohol content can dry hair out, but a little will make sure that the scent lasts longer than usual, cool right?
