With the season of summer fast approaching, the past time of sunbathing is sure to rear its head as we welcome in the change of weather. I’m sure that those of us lucky enough to have a garden have already spent more time outside the backdoor compared to previous summers. However, the latest lock down update did suggest that people are now permitted to go to the park and sunbathe so long as social distancing measures are followed within the UK.
Personally, I’m going to stick to my own green space for the foreseeable future, but not everyone will have that option. So, whether you decide to soak up some vitamin D in your local park, or within the comfort of your own back garden, skincare should remain at the forefront of your plans this summer.
Nivea has long been a household favourite, famous for delivering excellent sun-care products to our beach bags every year. This sunscreen in particular is no exception to the rule.
is the coloured spray for tanning (SPF 50+) and yes, it is from the children’s sun protection range!
See, I’ve been using Nivea Sun Kids sunscreen since I was a young teen over countless number of holidays to a variety of destinations. Throughout the process, this little bottle has carried my skin through extreme foreign climates as well as warm English summers.
Alongside a proven successful history on its side, this Nivea sunscreen in particular delivers the requirements demanded by my skin. I have the typical characteristics of an English rose, with an undertone of sun kissed susceptibility from the charming region of Normandy, inherited from my Nan on my Dad’s side. So, I require my
of choice (AKA Nivea Sun Kids sunscreen) to provide delicate protection for the British side of my heritage, whist allowing the French characteristics to glow during the summer months. With the Nivea sunscreen's breathable tanning properties and sensitive approach, my demands are met.
In my opinion, Nivea Sun Kids sunscreen offers the PERFECT sun protection. Naturally, the formula is designed for children’s skin, but I have found that it aids sensitive skin as an adult too, having used it for many years myself.
The application is nice and easy as the bottle has a spray nozzle, but be warned that the liquid is blue in colour so, be careful of clothing and of excitable children when applying this product.
This Nivea sunscreen provides high protection against UVA/UVB radiation, whilst remaining gentle to delicate skin. Personally, I adore the fact that this specific Nivea sunscreen is also waterproof! It’s always reassuring to know that my skin is being protected in the water under the blazing sun, as well as when I step out of the metaphorical dream pool that none of us are likely to see this year.
Having said that, I would ALWAYS suggest the re-application of this Nivea sunscreen once out of the water to ensure maximum protection, but it is a comfort to know that the formula is waterproof none the less. In a hot climate, I tend to re-apply every hour or so.
So, even though we won’t be having that kind of summer this year, it’s a good product to bear in mind for when we are able to travel again and better yet, while were carrying on with our sun tanning antics in every which way we can during lock down.
